Description
Supplied extract/carrier ledger arithmetic without preparation instructions or therapeutic claims.
Botanical laboratory records distinguish wet mass, dry matter, carriers, extract mass, and assay response. A fraction or reference comparison depends on the chosen material basis and supplied analytical method. Voucher and monograph metadata help identify records but do not themselves authenticate a specimen or establish product quality.

When to use this tool
Use Extract Carrier Mass Exclusion when you need this mass-basis, assay-response, extraction, or source-record calculation for supplied laboratory data.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter grossMass, carrierMass, tareMass, excludeCarrier. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read reportedMass, carrierFraction. Use the output convention below.
For nonnegative grossMass, carrierMass, and tareMass with carrier+tare<=gross return reportedMass=grossMass-tareMass minus carrierMass if excludeCarrier. Return carrierFraction=carrierMass/(grossMass-tareMass) when positive, otherwise zero.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| grossMass | Gross Mass | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| carrierMass | Carrier Mass | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| tareMass | Tare Mass | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| excludeCarrier | Exclude Carrier | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| reportedMass | Reported Mass | Required. Finite number. |
| carrierFraction | Carrier divided by tare-free gross mass, independently of excludeCarrier. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Masses need one unit. CarrierFraction always uses the tare-free gross base regardless of excludeCarrier; its zero-denominator convention has no separate flag and does not verify native extract purity.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the appropriate authenticated reference material, analytical protocol, and source records for a full laboratory assessment. Verify moisture basis, response factors, and extract/carrier definitions before comparing results.
