Description
Separate excluded periodontal sites from eligible and unmeasured sites.
Periodontal charts distinguish planned, excluded and unmeasured sites, anatomical ordering, reference landmarks and sign conventions. An unassessed site differs from a recorded negative finding, and an apical-positive coordinate needs its stated reference. These local records and corrections do not produce an examination, disease grade or treatment recommendation.
Separate excluded periodontal sites from eligible and unmeasured sites.
When to use this tool
Use Tooth Excluded Site Count when you already have plannedSites, excludedSites, measuredSites and need to separate excluded periodontal sites from eligible and unmeasured sites.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter plannedSites, excludedSites, measuredSites. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read eligibleSites, unmeasuredEligibleSites. Use the output convention below.
Require safe whole planned>=0, excluded in [0,planned] and measured in [0,planned-excluded]; return eligible=planned-excluded and eligible-measured.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| plannedSites | Planned Sites | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| excludedSites | Excluded Sites | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| measuredSites | Safe whole count no greater than plannedSites-excludedSites. | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| eligibleSites | Eligible Sites | Required. Safe integer. |
| unmeasuredEligibleSites | Unmeasured Eligible Sites | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No examination, site selection, missingness reason or periodontal score is inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the source chart's site order, landmark and sign convention before combining measurements. Apply the full documented examination and scoring method for an assessment; a site label, correction delta or recorded bleeding flag is only one record component.
