Description
Map supplied site aliases and order indices without inventing a clinical site convention.
Dental research records distinguish teeth, surfaces, sites, observations, exclusions, and reporting bases. Measurement resolution and missing observations affect interpretation differently. A chart token, site share, or measurement envelope can check supplied data without establishing a clinical finding.
Map supplied site aliases and order indices without inventing a clinical site convention.
When to use this tool
Use Periodontal Site Alias Order Token when you need this site-record, denominator, label, image-scale, or measurement component for supplied research data.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter siteTokens, aliasTokens, canonicalTokens, suppliedSiteOrder. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read canonical, orderIndices, unknownPositions. Use the output convention below.
Require aligned aliasTokens and canonicalTokens, unique aliases, and unique suppliedSiteOrder. Replace each site token by its exact alias mapping when present, retain unmatched tokens, and return canonical, zero-based orderIndices, and unknownPositions where the index is -1.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| siteTokens | Site Tokens | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| aliasTokens | Alias Tokens | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| canonicalTokens | Canonical Tokens | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| suppliedSiteOrder | Supplied Site Order | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| canonical | Canonical | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| orderIndices | Zero-based positions in suppliedSiteOrder; -1 means unknown. | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |
| unknownPositions | Unknown Positions | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Canonical tokens may repeat and input order is preserved. This maps labels rather than sorting observations, validating dental anatomy, or choosing a universal site-order convention.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the intended examination or measurement protocol with verified site identities and source records. Broader interpretation requires actual observations and appropriate measurement properties beyond one token or ratio.
