Description

Signed elapsed-time audit after subtracting explicit UTC offsets, without a specimen-processing schedule or acceptance threshold.

Laboratory records distinguish specimen identity, sampling coverage, retained quantities, processing times, image scale, and measurement uncertainty. Areas, volumes, counts, and source-support flags measure different aspects of a record. A local calculation does not identify tissue or establish diagnostic adequacy.

Signed elapsed-time audit after subtracting explicit UTC offsets, without a specimen-processing schedule or acceptance threshold.

When to use this tool

Use Specimen Receipt Fixation Delay Term when you need this specimen-record, sampling, processing-time, dimensional, or uncertainty calculation.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter collectionTime, receiptTime, recordedFixationStart, collectionOffset, receiptOffset, fixationOffset. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read transit, receiptToFixation, collectionToFixation, ordered. Inspect ordered before interpreting the associated values.

Normalize collection, receipt, and fixation times by subtracting each supplied clock offset. Return transit=normalizedReceipt-normalizedCollection, receiptToFixation=normalizedFixation-normalizedReceipt, collectionToFixation, and ordered when the normalized times are nondecreasing.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Offsets are local-minus-common-clock values in the same unit as timestamps. Negative intervals are retained with ordered=false; no date parsing, clock verification, suitable fixation timing, or specimen quality conclusion is provided.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use validated laboratory procedures, traceable measurements, and authenticated specimen records for a complete assessment. Check the relevant sampling and processing assumptions before interpreting a local quantity.
