Description
Measured research core-length aggregation with a separate supplied fragment estimate; no adequacy threshold or sampling guidance.
Laboratory records distinguish specimen identity, sampling coverage, retained quantities, processing times, image scale, and measurement uncertainty. Areas, volumes, counts, and source-support flags measure different aspects of a record. A local calculation does not identify tissue or establish diagnostic adequacy.

When to use this tool
Use Biopsy Core Length Aggregate Term when you need this specimen-record, sampling, processing-time, dimensional, or uncertainty calculation.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter lengths, fragmentedUnknownLength. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read measuredTotal, longest, totalIncludingEstimate. Use the output convention below.
For a nonempty list of nonnegative lengths and nonnegative fragmentedUnknownLength return measuredTotal=sum(lengths), longest=max(lengths), and totalIncludingEstimate=measuredTotal+fragmentedUnknownLength.1

| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| measuredTotal | Measured Total | Required. Finite number. |
| longest | Longest | Required. Finite number. |
| totalIncludingEstimate | Total Including Estimate | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Despite its name, fragmentedUnknownLength is an explicitly supplied length estimate rather than an unknown-state marker. Use one length unit; double counting, specimen integrity, and diagnostic adequacy are not assessed.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use validated laboratory procedures, traceable measurements, and authenticated specimen records for a complete assessment. Check the relevant sampling and processing assumptions before interpreting a local quantity.
