Community Treatment Coverage
Distinguish eligible-resident and total-population coverage in community-directed treatment.
Description
Community treatment coverage changes when the denominator is eligible residents rather than the whole population.
Community treatment coverage changes when the denominator is eligible residents rather than the whole population. Reporting both percentages makes that distinction explicit.
The tool returns eligibleCoveragePercent (eligible coverage percent); populationCoveragePercent (population coverage percent); untreatedEligibleResidents (untreated eligible residents). Input measurements and model parameters are supplied by the caller; the tool computes the stated summary rather than acquiring those measurements.
When to use Community Treatment Coverage
Use Community Treatment Coverage when you already have treatedResidents, eligibleResidents, totalResidents and want eligibleCoveragePercent, populationCoveragePercent, untreatedEligibleResidents. This is useful for checking a supplied calculation, documenting a measurement convention, or comparing observations prepared on the same basis.
How to use Community Treatment Coverage and understand its results
- Enter treatedResidents, eligibleResidents, totalResidents using the field table below. Match the units, ordering and data boundaries described in the calculation.
- Run the tool after checking the stated bounds and matching paired observations or categories. A malformed request gives a tool error rather than a usable measurement.
- Read eligibleCoveragePercent, populationCoveragePercent, untreatedEligibleResidents. Use the calculation and interpretation below to distinguish amounts, ratios, signs and decision flags where applicable.
- Review the supplied parameters and assumptions before using the result in a report or comparing it with another observation.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type and bounds | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| treatedResidents | Treated residents | integer | Required |
| eligibleResidents | Eligible residents | integer | Required |
| totalResidents | Total residents | integer | Required |
Require positive eligible and total counts with treated ≤ eligible ≤ total. Also return eligible residents minus treated residents.
eligible coverage% = 100 × treated/eligible; population coverage% = 100 × treated/total The symbols refer to the supplied quantities or generated values described above; unit conversions and comparison boundaries follow the stated implementation.

The counts are caller-reported and must cover the same community and campaign. The result does not verify ingestion, equity or individual adherence.
Numerical inputs must be finite. The tool checks its declared input shape and calculation constraints; those checks do not verify the quality, calibration or representativeness of the supplied observations.
