Description

Partition supplied periodic voice-trace sample indices with explicit exact-boundary ownership.

Voice and airflow research records use sample rates, frame windows, cycle boundaries, event clocks, unit conversions, and laterality labels. A data-support fraction or signed difference has a specific convention and denominator. These calculations operate on supplied records rather than an audio, respiratory, or vestibular examination.

Partition supplied periodic voice-trace sample indices with explicit exact-boundary ownership.

When to use this tool

Use Voice Cycle Boundary Phase Token when you need this sample, frame, cycle, timing, airflow, or laterality component for supplied research records.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter sample, cycleStart, samplesPerCycle, boundaryToNext. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read cycle, phaseSamples. Use the output convention below.

For positive integer samplesPerCycle use exact Euclidean division of sample-cycleStart into cycle and phaseSamples. At an exact boundary, boundaryToNext=true returns the new cycle at phase zero; false assigns the previous cycle with phaseSamples=samplesPerCycle.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Inputs are integer sample coordinates. Negative cycles are allowed and the previous-cycle convention includes a full-period endpoint; no cycle detection, audio segmentation, or physiological timing is inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated acquisition and a documented signal-analysis or assessment protocol when a local conversion is insufficient. Verify sample rate, frame boundaries, clock corrections, and record annotations.
