Description

Compare supplied research event clocks without vestibular diagnosis.

Voice and airflow research records use sample rates, frame windows, cycle boundaries, event clocks, unit conversions, and laterality labels. A data-support fraction or signed difference has a specific convention and denominator. These calculations operate on supplied records rather than an audio, respiratory, or vestibular examination.

When to use this tool

Use Vestibular Event Relative Offset when you need this sample, frame, cycle, timing, airflow, or laterality component for supplied research records.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter eventAt, referenceAt, clockCorrection. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read offset. Use the output convention below.

Return offset=eventAt-referenceAt-clockCorrection.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
eventAtEvent AtRequired. Finite number.
referenceAtReference AtRequired. Finite number.
clockCorrectionClock CorrectionRequired. Finite number.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
offsetSigned coordinate or time offset under the stated formula.Required. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Times and correction need one common unit and origin. Negative offsets are allowed; the supplied correction is not estimated and no event detection or vestibular diagnosis is performed.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated acquisition and a documented signal-analysis or assessment protocol when a local conversion is insufficient. Verify sample rate, frame boundaries, clock corrections, and record annotations.
