Task Step Prompt Count

Reconcile explicitly counted verbal and physical prompts without inferring independence or a functional score.

Description

Label and total recorded verbal and physical prompts for a task.

Occupational-therapy records preserve the user's stated roles, goals, assistance and task context. Time shares and normalized preferences depend on their declared denominator or scale, while prompt counts are observations rather than measures of independence by themselves. Device geometry and loan balances need verified source records before broader interpretation.

Label and total recorded verbal and physical prompts for a task.

When to use this tool

Use Task Step Prompt Count when you already have taskId, verbalPrompts, physicalPrompts and need to label and total recorded verbal and physical prompts for a task.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter taskId, verbalPrompts, physicalPrompts. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read totalPrompts, label. Use the output convention below.

Require taskId nonempty and nonnegative safe whole prompt counts; return their sum and a label preserving both counts.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • No activity is assessed or prompted. An unsafe integer total is rejected; count alone does not measure independence or required support.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the original activity record, client-stated priorities and assessment instrument for a substantive assessment. Inspect actual devices and inventory when fit, condition or availability matters; scalar offsets and record counts preserve narrower facts.
