Description

Compare explicit assistance-code levels without inventing scale weights or interpreting independence.

Activity and assistive-task records distinguish planned, attempted, completed, assisted, observed, and optional components. Shares depend on the selected denominator and credit policy. A supplied code, geometry, or time-budget calculation is separate from evaluating an individual's function or safe access.

Compare explicit assistance-code levels without inventing scale weights or interpreting independence.

When to use this tool

Use Task Assistance Code Level Gap when you need this specific task-count, assistance-code, timing, equipment-budget, or participation-record component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter firstCode, secondCode, suppliedCodes, suppliedLevels. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read known, gap. Inspect known before interpreting the associated values.

Require aligned suppliedCodes and suppliedLevels and unique codes. Return known only when both queried codes exist, and gap=second mapped level-first mapped level when known, otherwise zero.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Levels and vocabulary are caller-supplied, with no scale normalization. Zero on an unknown-code branch is a placeholder, and arithmetic level gaps do not establish interval-scale validity, assistance needs, or a clinical score.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the intended assessment and a complete task or access model when a local check is insufficient. Verify task definitions, credit policies, measurement units, and the context of the underlying observations.
