Description
Combine supplied orthogonal RMS components and weights without selecting occupational limits.
Occupational exposure calculations combine measured quantities, duration, reference conditions, weighting, and sampling support. Linear concentrations, squared acceleration, and logarithmic sound levels require different arithmetic. A supplied reference or limit is not automatically the applicable standard, and a local calculation is separate from a full exposure and safety assessment.
Combine supplied orthogonal RMS components and weights without selecting occupational limits.
When to use this tool
Use Vibration Axis Weight Reference when you need this particular sampling, duration, reference-unit, physical-exposure, or reporting-base term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter axisRms, suppliedWeights, referenceRms. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read weightedRms, referenceRatio. Use the output convention below.
Require aligned nonnegative axisRms and suppliedWeights and positive referenceRms. Return weightedRms=hypot(axisRms[i]*weight[i]) and referenceRatio=weightedRms/referenceRms.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Acceleration units must agree and weights are dimensionless supplied factors. Axis count is not fixed, and no frequency weighting, standard-specific combination rule, exposure duration, or workplace safety is validated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a complete hazard-specific assessment with calibrated measurements and the appropriate exposure model. Verify reference conditions, sampling coverage, weighting, denominator, and the applicable professional or regulatory method.
