Description
Return one supplied research duration-weighted exposure term; no occupational limit or compliance determination.
Occupational exposure calculations combine measured quantities, duration, reference conditions, weighting, and sampling support. Linear concentrations, squared acceleration, and logarithmic sound levels require different arithmetic. A supplied reference or limit is not automatically the applicable standard, and a local calculation is separate from a full exposure and safety assessment.

When to use this tool
Use Task Exposure Duration Weight when you need this particular sampling, duration, reference-unit, physical-exposure, or reporting-base term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter exposureLevel, duration, referenceDuration. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read contribution. Use the output convention below.
For nonnegative duration and positive referenceDuration return contribution=exposureLevel*duration/referenceDuration.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| exposureLevel | Signed scalar on a linear additive exposure scale. | Required. Finite number. |
| duration | Nonnegative time interval in a unit compatible with the reference duration. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| referenceDuration | Positive reference interval in the same time unit. | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| contribution | Contribution | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Time units must match and signed exposureLevel is allowed. This is one linear weighted term; logarithmic or squared exposures need another model, and no exposure limit, sampling validity, or health risk is determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a complete hazard-specific assessment with calibrated measurements and the appropriate exposure model. Verify reference conditions, sampling coverage, weighting, denominator, and the applicable professional or regulatory method.
