Description
Retain explicit measurement provenance while checking supplied bounds.
Pregnancy and birth research records distinguish observed and estimated values, dating anchors, day coordinates, time precision, clock offsets, and source permissions. A notation conversion or interval comparison does not determine a clinical date or validate consent. The supplied reference convention and uncertainty need to remain visible.
Retain explicit measurement provenance while checking supplied bounds.
When to use this tool
Use Pregnancy Research Estimated Observed Tag when you need this supplied research age, date, interval, clock, provenance, or record-rule calculation.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter value, sourceKind, lower, upper. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read observed, estimated, inside. Inspect observed, estimated, inside before interpreting the associated values.
Accept sourceKind observed or estimated and require upper>=lower. Return the corresponding observed/estimated flags and inside=(lower<=value<=upper).1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| value | Supplied scalar or returned value under the stated operation. | Required. Finite number. |
| sourceKind | Literal observed or estimated label supplied by the caller. | Required. Text; one of "observed", "estimated"; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| lower | Lower | Required. Finite number. |
| upper | Upper | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| observed | Observed | Required. Boolean. |
| estimated | Estimated | Required. Boolean. |
| inside | Inside | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Bounds and provenance labels are supplied. Calling a value observed does not verify it, and interval membership is not a clinical reference-range decision or evidence that an estimate is accurate.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified dates and sources together with the intended research or clinical assessment process. Check dating anchors, clock conventions, uncertainty, and whether a supplied reporting rule is appropriate for the question.
