Obstetric Sample Gestational Day Tag

Attach an explicitly supplied gestational day and source to a specimen without dating pregnancy or interpreting a sample.

Description

Label a specimen with supplied gestational days and dating source.

Maternity records distinguish estimated dates, recorded gestational age, postpartum calendar time and linked maternal/infant identifiers. Completed weeks plus remaining days is a representation of supplied days, not a dating estimate. Image planes, channels and birth-order labels depend on verified clinical records and source conventions.

Label a specimen with supplied gestational days and dating source.

When to use this tool

Use Obstetric Sample Gestational Day Tag when you already have specimenId, suppliedGestationalDays, datingSource and need to label a specimen with supplied gestational days and dating source.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter specimenId, suppliedGestationalDays, datingSource. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read label. Use the output convention below.

Require specimenId/datingSource nonempty and nonnegative safe whole gestational days; format specimen; gestational day=N [source].1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Age is recorded rather than estimated; no sample adequacy, dating validity or appropriate care is determined.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the original dating, visit, imaging and birth records for a substantive question. Preserve each estimate's source and measurement convention; local date differences and labels do not choose a pregnancy date or assess maternal/fetal health.
