Birth Record Multiple Birth Order

Label a supplied multiple-birth order and compare it with the recorded total without inferring identity.

Description

Label a supplied multiple-birth order and flag whether it fits the recorded total.

Maternity records distinguish estimated dates, recorded gestational age, postpartum calendar time and linked maternal/infant identifiers. Completed weeks plus remaining days is a representation of supplied days, not a dating estimate. Image planes, channels and birth-order labels depend on verified clinical records and source conventions.

Label a supplied multiple-birth order and flag whether it fits the recorded total.

When to use this tool

Use Birth Record Multiple Birth Order when you already have birthRecordId, oneBasedOrder, recordedTotal and need to label a supplied multiple-birth order and flag whether it fits the recorded total.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter birthRecordId, oneBasedOrder, recordedTotal. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read label, validWithinRecordedTotal. Inspect validWithinRecordedTotal before interpreting the associated values.

Require birthRecordId nonempty and positive safe whole order/total; format order of total and compare order<=total.1

validWithinRecordedTotalOrder<=recordedTotal; an order exceeding the total returns false rather than an input error.Required. Boolean.

Limitations and assumptions

  • An order above total returns a false flag rather than an input error; no identity, actual birth order or clinical interpretation is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the original dating, visit, imaging and birth records for a substantive question. Preserve each estimate's source and measurement convention; local date differences and labels do not choose a pregnancy date or assess maternal/fetal health.
