Maternity Visit Postpartum Day

Count signed calendar days between explicit birth and visit dates without assigning a postpartum care schedule.

Description

Measure a visit's signed calendar days after a supplied birth date.

Maternity records distinguish estimated dates, recorded gestational age, postpartum calendar time and linked maternal/infant identifiers. Completed weeks plus remaining days is a representation of supplied days, not a dating estimate. Image planes, channels and birth-order labels depend on verified clinical records and source conventions.

Measure a visit's signed calendar days after a supplied birth date.

When to use this tool

Use Maternity Visit Postpartum Day when you already have birthDate, visitDate and need to measure a visit's signed calendar days after a supplied birth date.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter birthDate, visitDate. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read signedPostpartumDays. Use the output convention below.

Parse real UTC dates; return visitDate-birthDate in days.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • A pre-birth visit returns a negative value; no postpartum state, follow-up recommendation or clinical need is inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the original dating, visit, imaging and birth records for a substantive question. Preserve each estimate's source and measurement convention; local date differences and labels do not choose a pregnancy date or assess maternal/fetal health.
