Food composition: USDA FoodData Central. Values are calculated from the selected record's edible amount per 100 grams.
Reference profile: U.S. Food and Drug Administration · public-domain-USGov
Normalized reference dataset: 2026-09-15.1
These population references describe habitual intake and are not personalized medical advice.
Calculate calories, macronutrients, vitamins, and minerals for multiple foods using normalized USDA FoodData Central records. Choose an explicitly labelled United States or United Kingdom reference profile to see how the selected foods compare.
Food names alone are ambiguous: whole-milk yogurt, low-fat yogurt, fortified yogurt, and sweetened yogurt can have materially different nutrient values. This tool keeps each USDA preparation separate and identifies every selected record by its FoodData Central ID.
Search for the precise food or preparation, add it, enter the mass eaten in grams, and select a reference profile. Nutrients are scaled from their per-100-gram values and then summed without premature rounding.
Reference values describe healthy populations and habitual intake. They are not individualized medical targets. A missing nutrient is shown as incomplete rather than silently counted as zero, and upper limits are not presented as goals.
