Description
Retain recordedLength when recumbency conventions match.
Recorded lengths can use different postures or measurement conventions. A supplied correction translates a record to a comparison basis but does not replace a standardized measurement.
Retain recordedLength when recumbency conventions match.
When to use this tool
Use Infant Measure Posture Base Flag when you need to apply an explicit posture correction to a recorded length.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter recordedLength, measuredRecumbent, suppliedPostureCorrection, targetRecumbent. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read adjustedLength, corrected. Inspect corrected before interpreting the associated values.
Retain recordedLength when recumbency conventions match. Otherwise add suppliedPostureCorrection for a recumbent target or subtract it for a nonrecumbent target.1

| adjustedLength | Adjusted Length | Required. Finite number. |
| corrected | Corrected | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The input must be at least the nonnegative correction even if no subtraction is used; no default correction or growth reference is provided.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Confirm the measurement protocol and correction source, and use an appropriate reference for any growth assessment.
