Leaching Rate Constant Calculator

Extract actual first-order leach log-residual rate, not shrinking-core reaction-controlled forward equation; signed fitted apparent rate no causality or reagent prescription. Caller independently verifies units, applicability and matching conditions; no operational recipe, safety certification, causal efficacy or legal/resource classification is inferred.

Description

A first-order residual fit relates log unrecovered fraction to elapsed leach time.

A first-order residual fit relates log unrecovered fraction to elapsed leach time.1

Its apparent rate and fit summary depend on the measured record.

When to use Leaching Rate Constant Calculator

Use this tool to calculate or review the supplied observations under the stated rules. Match completed survey or ledger observations by block, segment or stage and confirm their units and boundaries.

How to use Leaching Rate Constant Calculator and understand its results

  1. Match completed survey or ledger observations by block, segment or stage and confirm their units and boundaries.
  2. Enter observedLeachTimesSeconds, observedLeachRecoveryFractions, using the field meanings and rules below, then run the tool.
  3. Read apparentFirstOrderLeachRatePerSecond, leachResidualFitRSquared. Inspect nested result fields where present, and review unknown records separately from known matches.
  4. Correct any reported input issue and run again. Before using a successful result, check the stated units, signs, reference scope and observation coverage.

Use at least two aligned nonnegative times with nonzero time variance and recovery fractions 0≤r<1. Transform each with ln(1−r), fit a free-intercept OLS line and return negative slope plus R². Recovery=1 fails the log transform; negative apparent rates are retained and input times need not be sorted.

The regression helper accepts 2–10000 aligned finite pairs with nonzero predictor variance. It uses ordinary least squares with a free intercept and shifted coordinates. Samples need not be sorted unless this tool adds that requirement. R² is clamped to [0,1], with constant responses assigned one. A fit summary does not add an uncertainty estimate or an unlisted output.

apparentRate=−OLSslope(time,ln(1−recovery))

Use the matching field units and the exact boundary, ordering and reference rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

Units, ledger boundaries, survey interpretation and model applicability must be independently established. These summaries do not assign reserve/resource classifications or establish support adequacy, ventilation safety or an operating setting.

Missing required fields, unknown fields, wrong types and violated rules return input issues. Numeric values and outputs must be finite. Lists and matrices must be dense, without missing cells. Numeric lists allow at most 10000 entries; ordinary string lists allow at most 128 strings of 128 UTF-16 units each; numeric matrices allow at most 128 rows and 128 columns, subject to narrower requirements above.

Alternative or Complementary methods

For a related step, use Leaching Recovery vs Time Calculator: Timed dissolved-metal measurements describe observed leach recovery relative to original metal. For a complementary comparison, use Flotation Rate Constant Calculator: A two-point apparent flotation rate compares log residuals relative to an independently established ultimate recovery.
