Description
Calculate whole meal portions and volume remainder using a supplied portion size.
Historical and noncombat logistics records connect source conventions, museum dimensions, relief supplies and recorded service dates. A stock residual or nominal portion count is bookkeeping, while a scale factor describes supplied exhibit geometry. These limited quantities do not verify historical identity, suitable shelter capacity or protective performance.
Calculate whole meal portions and volume remainder using a supplied portion size.
When to use this tool
Use Relief Meal Container Portion Count when you already have containerVolume, suppliedPortionVolume and need to calculate whole meal portions and volume remainder using a supplied portion size.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter containerVolume, suppliedPortionVolume. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read wholePortions, remainingVolume. Use the output convention below.
Require containerVolume>=0 and portionVolume>0; portions=floor(volume/portion) and remainder=volume-portions*portion.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| containerVolume | Container Volume | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| suppliedPortionVolume | Supplied Portion Volume | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| wholePortions | Whole Portions | Required. Safe integer. |
| remainingVolume | Remaining Volume | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Units must match and integer output must be safe; no nutritional adequacy, food safety or suitable portion size is selected.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Reconcile original historical records and physical inventories, and inspect dimensioned museum or shelter plans when relevant. Use complete logistics and site requirements for an actual allocation; local counts and margins are individual record components.
