Description
Return opening plus received minus consumed.
A material balance tracks input, output, recovery, and unaccounted quantities on a common mass basis. A recovered amount is not automatically suitable for reuse.
Return opening plus received minus consumed.
When to use this tool
Use Non Combat Fuel Log Entry Balance when you need a supplied material-reconciliation or reuse share.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter openingLiters, receivedLiters, consumedLiters. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read closingLiters. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative opening, received, and consumed liters with consumption no greater than available stock. Return opening plus received minus consumed.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| openingLiters | Opening Liters | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| receivedLiters | Received Liters | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| consumedLiters | Consumed Liters | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| closingLiters | Closing Liters | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- This is a noncombat inventory ledger without leakage, calibration, fuel quality, handling safety, or actual consumption verification.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Verify measurements, losses, and material qualification before interpreting recovery as usable production input.
