Description
Multiply sessions by seats, subtract reserved and unavailable, and divide the available total by positive groupSize into completeGroups and leftoverSeats.
Capacity accounting divides available indivisible units into complete groups and a remainder. Aggregate capacity can hide layout, scheduling, or item-compatibility constraints.
Multiply sessions by seats, subtract reserved and unavailable, and divide the available total by positive groupSize into completeGroups and leftoverSeats.
When to use this tool
Use Maternity Class Seat Session Capacity when you need a bounded kit, seat, or well-capacity calculation.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sessions, seats, reserved, unavailable, groupSize. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read availableSeats, completeGroups, leftoverSeats. Use the output convention below.

| seats | Seats | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| reserved | Reserved | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Aggregated seat-sessions may not correspond to people attending every session; scheduling and accessibility constraints are not modeled.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Check the actual layout and item requirements before treating aggregate spare capacity as usable capacity.
