Description
Calculate idealCode = maximumCode × inputVoltage / referenceVoltage and referenceDerivative = -idealCode / referenceVoltage.
Ideal ADC and DAC models connect digital codes to a reference span and quantization step. Coding, endpoint conventions, and reference behavior determine the meaning of a code-domain term.
Calculate idealCode = maximumCode × inputVoltage / referenceVoltage and referenceDerivative = -idealCode / referenceVoltage.
When to use this tool
Use ADC Reference Drift Code Sensitivity when you need one explicit converter coding, resolution, or analog-model term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter inputVoltage, referenceVoltage, maximumCode. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read idealCode, referenceDerivative. Use the output convention below.
Calculate idealCode = maximumCode × inputVoltage / referenceVoltage and referenceDerivative = -idealCode / referenceVoltage. Require input voltage within the positive reference.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- The derivative is code units per volt when volts are used; no quantization, clipping beyond the domain, or converter nonlinearity is modeled.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
