NMR Relaxation Delay
Check NMR relaxation delay against an injected T1 multiple.
Description
NMR relaxation-delay screening compares an acquisition delay with a chosen multiple of T1.
NMR relaxation-delay screening compares an acquisition delay with a chosen multiple of T1. The multiple represents an experimental recovery criterion supplied by the user.1
Check NMR relaxation delay against an injected T1 multiple.
When to use NMR Relaxation Delay
Use this tool to check NMR relaxation delay against an injected T1 multiple.
Prepare the measured profile, formula counts, upstream model outputs or caller-defined reference criteria requested. Keep paired entries aligned and units, sample basis and preprocessing consistent.
How to use NMR Relaxation Delay and understand its results
- Prepare the measured profile, formula counts, upstream model outputs or caller-defined reference criteria requested. Keep paired entries aligned and units, sample basis and preprocessing consistent.
- Enter relaxationDelaySeconds, longestT1Seconds, requiredT1Multiples using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
- Read requiredDelaySeconds, delayMarginSeconds, compliant. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
- If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type; see rules below | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| relaxationDelaySeconds | Relaxation delay seconds | number | Required |
| longestT1Seconds | Longest t 1 seconds | number | Required |
| requiredT1Multiples | Required t 1 multiples | number | Required |
Enter nonnegative delay and positive T1 and multiplier on the same time basis. Return required delay, signed margin and compliant flag for margin≥0.
requiredDelay=T1×multiple; margin=delay−requiredDelay Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| requiredDelaySeconds | Required delay seconds | number |
| delayMarginSeconds | Delay margin seconds | number |
| compliant | Compliant | boolean |

No T1 fitting, recovery curve, pulse-angle correction or fixed five-T1 requirement is supplied.
Numeric inputs must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors. A successfully returned false flag is an evaluated outcome; its meaning is explained above.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use NMR Water Suppression: Screen NMR water-window residual intensity relative to a reference region. For a complementary task, use NMR Reference Offset: Re-reference NMR chemical shifts to observed TMS zero.
