Description

Charge regularHours at baseRate and overtimeHours at baseRate × multiplier.

A cost term combines quantities with rates on a consistent currency and time basis. A supplied multiplier or reimbursement changes accounting without determining an entitlement or market price.

Charge regularHours at baseRate and overtimeHours at baseRate × multiplier.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Multiplier is at least one and rates use one currency per hour; this does not determine statutory overtime eligibility, taxes, or payroll rounding.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile the full cost model and relevant contractual or payroll policy before treating a component as a final charge.
