Description

Divide completedCommitted by positive committed for reliability.

Capacity accounting compares available supply with commitments, reservations, or demand. Negative residuals can expose overload while zero capacity requires a distinct undefined utilization state.

Divide completedCommitted by positive committed for reliability.

When to use this tool

Use Commitment Reliability One Period Ratio when you need a transparent resource or workload capacity term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter committed, completedCommitted, unplannedCompleted. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read reliability, totalCompleted. Use the output convention below.

Divide completedCommitted by positive committed for reliability. Add unplannedCompleted only to totalCompleted.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Completed committed work cannot exceed commitments; unplanned output does not increase reliability and scope or work size is not evaluated.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Validate calendars, skill constraints, and concurrent demand with the actual resource plan.
