Brazilian Milreis Subunit Carry Tool

Normalize historical ledger subunits using an explicit caller-supplied base; no exchange value is assumed.

Description

Form major × suppliedBase + subunits using exact integers.

A mixed-unit historical amount combines a major unit with a specified number of subunits. Normalization carries excess or negative subunits across that supplied base.

Form major × suppliedBase + subunits using exact integers.

When to use this tool

Use Brazilian Milreis Subunit Carry when you need to normalize a recorded amount without selecting historical exchange rates.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter major, subunits, suppliedBase. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read normalizedMajor, normalizedSubunits. Use the output convention below.

Form major × suppliedBase + subunits using exact integers. Normalize with floor division so normalizedSubunits lies in [0, suppliedBase).1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Signed inputs are accepted and the base is supplied; no historical exchange rate or denomination policy is inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the source denomination convention and preserve original spelling when historical interpretation matters.
