Paver Joint Module Spacing Tool

Compute a paver repeat module and a run including only internal joints, excluding joints at both run ends.

Description

Return paverLength + jointWidth as repeatModule.

Spacing calculations place ideal points or modules within a stated geometric extent. End margins, row patterns, and partial border positions affect the count.

Return paverLength + jointWidth as repeatModule.

When to use this tool

Use Paver Joint Module Spacing when you need an explicit planting or paving layout-count term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter paverLength, jointWidth, moduleCount. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read repeatModule, totalRun. Use the output convention below.

Return paverLength + jointWidth as repeatModule. Multiply paver length by moduleCount and add max(0, count-1) internal joints for totalRun.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Terminal joints are excluded and a zero count has zero run; joints, cuts, tolerances, and actual paving geometry are not optimized.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use a complete site layout that includes boundaries, obstacles, growth, joints, and installation allowances.
