Patio Paver Cut Border Count Tool

Count rectangular grid positions that require a cut on the right or far border; no reuse or joint width assumed.

Description

Round width/paverWidth and length/paverLength upward for columns and rows.

Spacing calculations place ideal points or modules within a stated geometric extent. End margins, row patterns, and partial border positions affect the count.

Round width/paverWidth and length/paverLength upward for columns and rows.

When to use this tool

Use Patio Paver Cut Border Count when you need an explicit planting or paving layout-count term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter width, length, paverWidth, paverLength. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read columns, rows, cutPositions, totalPositions. Use the output convention below.

Round width/paverWidth and length/paverLength upward for columns and rows. Count cut-edge positions for each nonexact side, subtracting the shared corner once.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This assumes an aligned rectangular grid without joints, reusable offcuts, rotation, breakage, or installer waste.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use a complete site layout that includes boundaries, obstacles, growth, joints, and installation allowances.
