Path Curve Offset Radius Tool

Calculate path curve offset radius from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Add offset to centerRadius for outward curves or subtract it for inward curves, rejecting an inward offset beyond the center radius.

Simple site geometry approximates an area, section, or volume using ideal shapes. Coherent length units and the distinction between signed and unsigned quantities determine the result's meaning.

Add offset to centerRadius for outward curves or subtract it for inward curves, rejecting an inward offset beyond the center radius.

When to use this tool

Use Path Curve Offset Radius when you need one transparent landscape geometry component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter centerRadius, offset, outward. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read offsetRadius. Use the output convention below.

Limitations and assumptions

  • This is a concentric circular offset rather than a general path offset or accessibility assessment.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use a surveyed terrain or construction model when irregular shapes, settlement, drainage, and structural performance matter.
