Description
Multiply radius by sweepRadians for oneArc and by scallops for totalLength.
Simple site geometry approximates an area, section, or volume using ideal shapes. Coherent length units and the distinction between signed and unsigned quantities determine the result's meaning.
Multiply radius by sweepRadians for oneArc and by scallops for totalLength.
When to use this tool
Use Lawn Edging Scallop Arc Length when you need one transparent landscape geometry component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter radius, sweepRadians, scallops. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read oneArc, totalLength, chordWidth. Use the output convention below.
Multiply radius by sweepRadians for oneArc and by scallops for totalLength. Return 2 × radius × sin(sweepRadians/2) for chordWidth.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| radius | Radius | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| sweepRadians | Sweep Radians | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| scallops | Scallops | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| oneArc | One Arc | Required. Finite number. |
| totalLength | Total Length | Required. Finite number. |
| chordWidth | Chord Width | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The sweep is 0-2π radians; this counts ideal repeated arcs without joins or construction allowances.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a surveyed terrain or construction model when irregular shapes, settlement, drainage, and structural performance matter.
