Public Hijri Month Source Gap Tool

Compare explicit year/month labels on a supplied uniform month radix; no Gregorian conversion or lunar observation.

Description

Use exact integers for (secondYear - firstYear) × monthsInSuppliedYear + secondMonth - firstMonth.

Calendar coordinates depend on an era, origin, day-start rule, and sometimes an arithmetic rather than observational convention. A supplied coordinate difference does not resolve those choices.

Use exact integers for (secondYear - firstYear) × monthsInSuppliedYear + secondMonth - firstMonth.

When to use this tool

Use Public Hijri Month Source Gap when you need a documented calendar convention or source-coordinate comparison.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter firstMonth, secondMonth, firstYear, secondYear, monthsInSuppliedYear. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read monthGapDecimal. Use the output convention below.

Use exact integers for (secondYear - firstYear) × monthsInSuppliedYear + secondMonth - firstMonth. Return monthGapDecimal.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This assumes a fixed caller-supplied month count per year and does not convert lunar observations or month lengths into days.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the source calendar and authoritative date information for actual observance, conversion, or historical dating.
