Hijri Year Civil Tabular Remainder Tool

Arithmetic Islamic 30-year leap convention (11*y+14) mod 30 < 11; this is not an observed lunar calendar or a religious-date determination.

Description

For positive integer year, compute cycleYear = (year - 1) modulo 30 + 1.

Calendar coordinates depend on an era, origin, day-start rule, and sometimes an arithmetic rather than observational convention. A supplied coordinate difference does not resolve those choices.

For positive integer year, compute cycleYear = (year - 1) modulo 30 + 1.

When to use this tool

Use Hijri Year Civil Tabular Remainder when you need a documented calendar convention or source-coordinate comparison.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter year. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read cycleYear, leap, daysInYear. Inspect leap before interpreting the associated values.

For positive integer year, compute cycleYear = (year - 1) modulo 30 + 1. Mark leap when (11 × year + 14) modulo 30 is below 11 and return 355 or 354 days.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This is one explicit arithmetic civil-tabular convention, not an observational month-start determination or universal religious calendar ruling.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the source calendar and authoritative date information for actual observance, conversion, or historical dating.
