Description

Sum weights matching each label and subtract opposition from support.

Quorum, veto, delegation, and limit checks apply declared organizational rules to supplied records. Numeric consistency is separate from establishing actual authority or valid procedure.

Sum weights matching each label and subtract opposition from support.

When to use this tool

Use Public Resolution Vote Weight Gap when you need a reproducible check against explicit governance inputs.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter votes, weights, supportLabel, oppositionLabel. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read supportWeight, oppositionWeight, netWeight. Use the output convention below.

Require aligned votes and nonnegative weights with distinct supportLabel and oppositionLabel. Sum weights matching each label and subtract opposition from support.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Other labels contribute to neither side; no passage threshold, quorum, or organizational authority is evaluated.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the governing policy and verify membership, delegation, and decision records with the responsible authority.
