Description
Require valueAtBasePrices between zero and positive totalBaseValue, then divide for share.
A trade index or share compares values on a declared price, currency, period, and coverage basis. Changing a denominator or quote orientation can change the interpretation substantially.
Require valueAtBasePrices between zero and positive totalBaseValue, then divide for share.
When to use this tool
Use Trade Weight Price Base Share when you need an explicit trade-ratio or index component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter valueAtBasePrices, totalBaseValue. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read share. Use the output convention below.
Require valueAtBasePrices between zero and positive totalBaseValue, then divide for share.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| valueAtBasePrices | Value At Base Prices | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| totalBaseValue | Total Base Value | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| share | Dimensionless fraction under the stated denominator policy. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Both values must use the same price base and currency; the tool does not construct a price index or validate weights.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
