Description
Sum absolute signedFlows for grossAbsoluteFlow and sum flows whose label equals selectedAccount.
External-account identities reconcile flows, stocks, and explicit adjustments. Signed residuals are useful diagnostics but do not identify their cause or verify statistical classification.
Sum absolute signedFlows for grossAbsoluteFlow and sum flows whose label equals selectedAccount.
When to use this tool
Use External Account Flow Share when you need a transparent trade or external-account reconciliation term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter signedFlows, accountLabels, selectedAccount. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read grossAbsoluteFlow, selectedSignedFlow, signedShare, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.
Sum absolute signedFlows for grossAbsoluteFlow and sum flows whose label equals selectedAccount. Divide the selected signed flow by positive gross flow, otherwise return zero and defined false.1

| selectedAccount | Selected Account | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| grossAbsoluteFlow | Gross Absolute Flow | Required. Finite number. |
| selectedSignedFlow | Selected Signed Flow | Required. Finite number. |
| signedShare | Signed Share | Required. Finite number. |
| defined | Whether the accompanying fraction has an available nonzero denominator. | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The denominator is gross absolute flow rather than a signed balance; labels and account coverage are not validated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Reconcile the full dataset with its accounting and valuation conventions before interpreting a balance or value-added estimate.
