Description

Calculate customsValue × dutyRate for duty.

A tax or rebate calculation depends on a valuation base, fractional rate, sequencing, and explicit inclusions or exclusions. Those inputs must come from the applicable jurisdiction and transaction rules.

Calculate customsValue × dutyRate for duty.

When to use this tool

Use Customs Duty Tax Sequence One Line when you need a supplied-rule tax-base or payment component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter customsValue, dutyRate, excise, taxRate, includeDutyInTax. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read duty, taxBase, tax, landedTaxTotal. Use the output convention below.

Calculate customsValue × dutyRate for duty. Add excise and optionally duty to customs value for taxBase; apply taxRate and return duty + excise + tax as landedTaxTotal.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • LandedTaxTotal excludes customs value itself; rates and sequencing are supplied rather than a jurisdiction's legally payable tax calculation.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Verify current jurisdictional treatment and transaction facts with a qualified tax or customs professional.
