Pharmaceutical Packaging Line Reject Share Tool

Calculate pharmaceutical packaging line reject share from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Subtract rejected from positive produced for firstPassAccepted, then add acceptedRework for finalAccepted.

Packaging counts distinguish first-pass acceptance, rework, scrap, verified support, and remaining inventory. A reconciled total does not independently establish product or labeling quality.

Subtract rejected from positive produced for firstPassAccepted, then add acceptedRework for finalAccepted.

When to use this tool

Use Pharmaceutical Packaging Line Reject Share when you need a supplied packaging count or support term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter produced, rejected, reworked, acceptedRework. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read firstPassAccepted, finalAccepted, firstPassYield, finalYield. Use the output convention below.

Subtract rejected from positive produced for firstPassAccepted, then add acceptedRework for finalAccepted. Divide both by produced for their yields.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Require acceptedRework ≤ reworked ≤ rejected ≤ produced; count reconciliation does not establish valid rework, product quality, or release approval.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile physical and documentary records under the validated packaging and quality procedure.
