Description
Divide nonnegative actualYield by positive referenceYield and return ratio minus one as deviation.
Manufacturing mass comparisons depend on tare, moisture, exclusions, and dry-solids bases. A yield or residual is a bench accounting result rather than a quality-release decision.
Divide nonnegative actualYield by positive referenceYield and return ratio minus one as deviation.
When to use this tool
Use Batch Yield Reference Ratio when you need one explicit pharmaceutical mass-basis calculation.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter actualYield, referenceYield. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read ratio, deviation. Use the output convention below.
Divide nonnegative actualYield by positive referenceYield and return ratio minus one as deviation.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| actualYield | Actual Yield | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| referenceYield | Reference Yield | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| ratio | Ratio using the numerator and denominator conventions stated above. | Required. Finite number. |
| deviation | Deviation | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Yields must use the same basis; ratios above one and signed deviations are allowed without acceptance limits or root-cause analysis.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the validated procedure, original batch records, and approved quality criteria for manufacturing decisions.
