Process Rework Route Share Tool

Calculate process rework route share from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Sum quantities on IDs included in reworkRoutes and divide by positive total, otherwise return zero and defined false.

Production yields distinguish first-pass output, accepted rework, and final good units. Expected fractions, observed counts, and reporting bases should remain explicit.

Sum quantities on IDs included in reworkRoutes and divide by positive total, otherwise return zero and defined false.

When to use this tool

Use Process Rework Route Share when you need one supplied yield, rework, or effectiveness component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter routeIds, quantities, reworkRoutes. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read totalQuantity, reworkQuantity, share, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.

Require aligned nonnegative quantities and route IDs. Sum quantities on IDs included in reworkRoutes and divide by positive total, otherwise return zero and defined false.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Route labels are exact and supplied; repeated route records contribute separately and no units are deduplicated or quality is judged.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review process records and the relevant quality and time-accounting definitions before comparing production performance.
