Description
Calculate inside bend radius relative to panel thickness.
Product geometry depends on reference surfaces, mating dimensions, signed offsets, compression assumptions and material behavior. A clearance comparison or nominal engagement depth describes a limited scalar relation. Physical fit, ergonomics, sealing, strength and electrical compatibility need the complete product and its verified conditions.
Calculate inside bend radius relative to panel thickness.
When to use this tool
Use Panel Bend Radius Thickness Ratio when you already have insideBendRadius, panelThickness and need to calculate inside bend radius relative to panel thickness.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter insideBendRadius, panelThickness. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read radiusThicknessRatio. Use the output convention below.
Require radius>=0 and thickness>0; return radius/thickness.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| insideBendRadius | Inside Bend Radius | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| panelThickness | Panel Thickness | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| radiusThicknessRatio | Radius Thickness Ratio | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No material, bend allowance, springback, formability or safe minimum radius is determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect actual component specifications and a complete dimensioned assembly for design decisions. Add material, loading, tolerance and operating-condition analysis when a local gap, radius ratio or supplied compression fraction cannot establish performance.
