Description
Sum nonnegative componentVolumes, divide by positive envelopeVolume for occupiedShare, and subtract the sum from envelopeVolume × suppliedPackingFraction for budgetGap.
A signed fit margin compares available space with an object and explicit allowances. Volume sufficiency, radial gaps, and diametral clearance are different conditions.
Sum nonnegative componentVolumes, divide by positive envelopeVolume for occupiedShare, and subtract the sum from envelopeVolume × suppliedPackingFraction for budgetGap.
When to use this tool
Use Component Envelope Pack Share when you need one transparent product fit or travel-margin term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter componentVolumes, envelopeVolume, suppliedPackingFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read componentVolume, occupiedShare, budgetGap. Use the output convention below.

} Limitations and assumptions
- The share may exceed one; volume accounting does not establish geometric packing, service access, or thermal clearance.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
