Cytokine Result Censor Interval Token Tool

Serialize an explicitly one-sided analytical censor bound without substituting a measured concentration.

Description

Select a lower or upper bound using below, and choose a strict or inclusive comparison token using inclusive.

A reported threshold is not an exact measured value. Censored observations have one available bound, while a rounded exact value can be represented by a finite interval.

Select a lower or upper bound using below, and choose a strict or inclusive comparison token using inclusive.

When to use this tool

Use Cytokine Result Censor Interval Token when you need to preserve bound availability rather than treating every number as exact.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter limit, below, inclusive. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read lowerBound, upperBound, bound, intervalToken. Inspect lowerBound, upperBound before interpreting the associated values.

Require nonnegative limit. Select a lower or upper bound using below, and choose a strict or inclusive comparison token using inclusive.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The returned limit is a bound rather than an exact cytokine concentration; the tool does not infer an opposite bound, detection method, or clinical interpretation.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Retain the original assay qualifier and use an appropriate censored-data method for statistical analysis.
