Antibody Isotype Control Signal Gap Tool

Descriptive isotype-control comparisons without choosing a positivity gate or concluding binding specificity.

Loading tool…

Description

Return sample-control difference, difference/controlSd, and sample/controlSignal.

Immune-assay data can contain raw signals, blanks, gated event counts, dilution labels, and research thresholds. Their units and denominators differ, and arithmetic on supplied values is separate from assay validation or clinical interpretation.

Return sample-control difference, difference/controlSd, and sample/controlSignal.

When to use this tool

Use Antibody Isotype Control Signal Gap when you need one transparent research-assay calculation or event-accounting check.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter sampleSignal, controlSignal, controlSd. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read difference, standardizedDifference, ratio. Use the output convention below.

Require positive controlSignal and controlSd. Return sample-control difference, difference/controlSd, and sample/controlSignal.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Signals share one scale; the supplied spread and isotype control are not evaluated for appropriateness, and no biological or diagnostic threshold is selected.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the complete assay protocol, calibration, controls, uncertainty, and appropriate professional interpretation.
