Antibody Dilution Log Reference Tool

Logarithmic comparison of supplied dilution notation without recommending an assay dilution.

Loading tool…

Description

Return their ratio and logarithm of that ratio in the selected base.

Immune-assay data can contain raw signals, blanks, gated event counts, dilution labels, and research thresholds. Their units and denominators differ, and arithmetic on supplied values is separate from assay validation or clinical interpretation.

Return their ratio and logarithm of that ratio in the selected base.

When to use this tool

Use Antibody Dilution Log Reference when you need one transparent research-assay calculation or event-accounting check.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter reciprocalDilution, referenceReciprocal, logBase. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read logDifference, ratio. Use the output convention below.

Require positive reciprocalDilution and referenceReciprocal and logBase greater than one. Return their ratio and logarithm of that ratio in the selected base.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • These are supplied reciprocal dilution values, not directly measured antibody amounts; overflow, underflow, and assay interpretation are not resolved by taking logarithms.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the complete assay protocol, calibration, controls, uncertainty, and appropriate professional interpretation.
