Description
Subtract nonnegative bypassFlow from totalFlow and divide by positive integer channels.
Flow calculations relate volume, time, cross-section, velocity, and supplied model parameters. A local ratio or contribution does not by itself solve a complete hydraulic system.
Subtract nonnegative bypassFlow from totalFlow and divide by positive integer channels.
When to use this tool
Use Hydroponic Pump Flow Per Channel Term when you need one explicit flow component with coherent units and references.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter totalFlow, bypassFlow, channels. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read perChannel. Use the output convention below.

| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| totalFlow | Total Flow | Required. Finite number. |
| bypassFlow | Bypass Flow | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| channels | Channels | Required. Safe integer; minimum 1. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| perChannel | Per Channel | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- This assumes an equal split of usable flow; no branch resistance, pump curve, actual distribution, or minimum plant requirement is assessed.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use surveyed geometry, appropriate calibration, and a complete hydraulic model for operational or design decisions.
