Description
Multiply nonnegative specificStorage and aquiferVolume by signed headChange for storedWaterChange.
Groundwater components relate hydraulic head, storage, porosity, and supplied flow parameters. A local equation uses a declared aquifer model; it does not establish that model from field observations.
Multiply nonnegative specificStorage and aquiferVolume by signed headChange for storedWaterChange.
When to use this tool
Use Specific Storage Head Change Volume when you need one explicit groundwater or soil-storage component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter specificStorage, aquiferVolume, headChange. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read storedWaterChange. Use the output convention below.

} Limitations and assumptions
- Specific storage is inverse length, aquifer volume is length cubed, and head change uses that length unit. This linear storage term omits unconfined drainage and spatially varying aquifer properties.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use suitable field measurements, aquifer assumptions, and a complete groundwater analysis for resource or safety decisions.
