Description

Divide nonnegative thickness by positive conductivity times area for resistance.

Groundwater components relate hydraulic head, storage, porosity, and supplied flow parameters. A local equation uses a declared aquifer model; it does not establish that model from field observations.

Divide nonnegative thickness by positive conductivity times area for resistance.

When to use this tool

Use Darcy Series Layer Resistance Term when you need one explicit groundwater or soil-storage component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter thickness, conductivity, area. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read resistance. Use the output convention below.

Limitations and assumptions

  • For hydraulic conductivity in length/time and area in length squared, resistance has time per area units and multiplies discharge to give head loss. This is one series-layer term, not an equivalent aquifer model.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use suitable field measurements, aquifer assumptions, and a complete groundwater analysis for resource or safety decisions.
