Commute Trip Shared Leg Credit Tool

Calculate commute trip shared leg credit from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Subtract sharedLeg once from their sum, allocating its credit equally when allocateHalfShared or wholly against the first trip otherwise.

Spatial models compare distances, travel intervals, activity areas, or supplied interaction functions. Coordinates and model parameters must share a compatible basis, and a local term does not establish observed behavior.

Subtract sharedLeg once from their sum, allocating its credit equally when allocateHalfShared or wholly against the first trip otherwise.

When to use this tool

Use Commute Trip Shared Leg Credit when you need one explicit spatial or travel-model component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter firstDuration, secondDuration, sharedLeg, allocateHalfShared. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read uniqueDuration, firstAllocated, secondAllocated. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative firstDuration and secondDuration and sharedLeg within both. Subtract sharedLeg once from their sum, allocating its credit equally when allocateHalfShared or wholly against the first trip otherwise.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Durations share units; the allocations sum to uniqueDuration but do not infer actual shared travel, fairness, or a transport accounting standard.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Check projection, route definitions, calibration, and the complete model before interpreting access or predicted flows.
