Calculate hotel room block release count from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Return blocked-pickup-protected as released and pickup+protected as retained.

Hospitality plans use room counts, covers, service durations, portions, and stock balances. A local component applies supplied operational rules without confirming actual availability, service quality, or adequate capacity.

Return blocked-pickup-protected as released and pickup+protected as retained.

When to use this tool

Use Hotel Room Block Release Count when you need one explicit hospitality planning or reconciliation component.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter blocked, pickup, protectedUnbooked. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read released, retained. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative blocked rooms, pickup within blocked, and protectedUnbooked within their remainder. Return blocked-pickup-protected as released and pickup+protected as retained.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The inputs are supplied room counts; no booking system is changed and no contract release rights or availability are verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Check the complete booking, layout, staffing, and service plan before relying on an operational estimate.
